Splendid Awards 2022: Splendid Moments

Our Splendid Family came together on Monday 28 February to recognise our top talent at the annual Splendid Awards. Held at the Hilton London Bankside, we celebrated Splendid Moments by hotels and individuals who went above and beyond during the last year. We also featured three other awards celebrating the Splendid Hospitality Way: delivering genuine service to create extraordinary experiences and positively impact lives.

The Splendid Moment Awards were awarded to four worthy winners, nominated by their peers. The Mercure Bristol Bristow team, Iggy Mirkowitz from Easy Hotel Reading, Sarah Jones from KFC and Yvette Thirlwell from The Grand Hotel, York were all accoladed for their support and unending enthusiasm during a difficult year.

The winner of the coveted Shiraz Boghani Community Hero Award was Binu Cherian, Hilton London Bankside’s Executive Sous Chef. He was awarded for his work with the Blackfriars ‘Positively Ageing’ Settlement, who provided weekly meals for those in need during the pandemic. Binu played an integral part in the local community, using the Splendid Hospitality way to create extraordinary experiences and positively impact the community surrounding the hotel.

The ’Be the Best, Have Fun and Make Money’ KFC Award was awarded to Asam Masood from KFC. He was chosen for his continuous efforts in delivering consistent, pace-setting performance in his restaurant, while still taking time to support and develop peers. This has contributed to establishing success and excellence throughout the company.

The Splendid Family Member of the Year Award was awarded to Jodie ‘JoJo’ Conner, Hotel Indigo York’s Guest Services Manager. JoJo joined the team during the pandemic, and from the moment she started she has brought passion, positivity and Splendid values to her work at the hotel and to her team. She had nominations from the General Manager as well as several of her peers.
