Mercure Dumfries opens its doors

Splendid Hospitality Group has now opened its 23rd hotel, the Mercure Dumfries Cargenholm House hotel which opened on the 5th January 2023.

The 61-room hotel was once the family home of Scottish Naval Officer and polar explorer Archibald McMurdo.

It is located an hour’s drive away from Carlisle, England’s most northerly city, and can cater for up to 60 people at conferences, meetings and events.

The hotel offers 61 bedrooms, Archibold’s bar and restaurant as well as catering for events for up to 80 guests.

Splendid acquired the property and has developed it into a Mercure hotel, the third Mercure to join the SHG family.
