The Grand Hotel & Spa, York has taken the title of Best Boardroom / Small Meeting Room at the Conference Hospitality Show Awards hosted in Leeds.
The Grand, Yorkshire’s only five-star hotel, was also highly commended in the Best Welcome Guest Experience category.
Now in its third year, the national CHS Awards showcases the very best of the UK hospitality industry with 17 award categories ranging from Best Venue Communication to Best Bedroom.

Set to open June 2017, ‘The Rise’ is the latest venture from The Grand Hotel & Spa, York, serving modern cuisine across a new ‘small plate’ concept, allowing guests to enjoy a feast of sharing dishes in an immersive and social dining experience.
The 130-cover restaurant will become part of a £15m expansion project for The Grand Hotel & Spa, which will also see the addition of 101 bedrooms when a new accommodation wing opens later this year. When complete, the development will double the number of five-star rooms in York, from 107 to 208, generating an additional £1.7 million of annual visitor expenditure for the local economy.

Hilton London Bankside, part of the Splendid Hospitality Group, has been named the winner of the 2016 Hilton Hotels & Resorts’ Award of Excellence. Judged across all Hilton properties in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the Award of Excellence is given to the hotel who performed best overall for staff and customer experience. This achievement recognises the work of the hotel to create the best possible service for the customer as well as an enjoyable working environment for staff through dedicated programmes.
The hotel was also recently voted Gold award winner from hotels.com for receiving exceptional guest ratings and reviews from its guests.

Splendid Hospitality Group (SHG) has appointed Philip Bolson as General Manager for The Grand Hotel & Spa, York’s only 5-star hotel.
Philip steps in at a pivotal time as this much-loved iconic hotel enters the final stages of a major £15 million redevelopment which will include new restaurant concepts and additional bedrooms.
The group enjoys the support of major brands such as IHG, Choice, Accor and Hilton. Recent additions include the Mercure Bristol Brigstow Hotel, The New Ellington, Leeds and the 292 guest room Hilton London Bankside situated in the heart of London's vibrant Bankside.
